Are You a Lone Nut?
Have you ever wondered how a movement is formed? In current times of fast communication and media it seems crazes and causes come (and go) so quickly, anyone remember “planking” or more recently the “Ice Bucket Challenge”? How do these ideas gain so much momentum in such a short space of time?
Is it a courageous leader with an idea? Sure, that’s part of it, after all someone has to be “the ideas man” (or woman). But really, what is any idea without its followers?
Have you ever thought about “liking” something on social media, but didn’t want to be the first to put your so called stamp on a post? Were you perhaps waiting for the “First Follower” to get things started, or perhaps you even required a bit more momentum to occur before you were ready to step out and support something.
Whilst the world needs Leaders and “ideas people”, nothing happens without followers, and more importantly, that first follower who gets things started.
